Top 5 Early-Entry Players

The list of early entry prospects is filled with high-quality talent that will hope to make a significant impact next season in the NBA. Countless mock drafts will try to project each player’s destination as we get closer to the NBA Draft. All of these players are expected to be lottery picks and will be selected near the top of the draft. Here are the top five most intriguing players in the upcoming draft.

#1 DeAndre Ayton Arizona – Freshman

Center/Forward DeAndre Ayton from Arizona is being considered as one of the top picks, as his elite physical talents set him apart from the other prospects. DeAndre Ayton is a dominant big man that averaged 20.1 points per game and 11.6 rebounds for the Wildcats during his freshman season.

#2 Marvin Bagley III Duke – Freshman

Marvin Bagley III is also projected to be selected near the top of the draft, as he averaged 21 points per game and 11.1 rebounds in his lone season at Duke. Bagley III will need to work on his defense, but he has the potential of turning into an NBA superstar.

#3 Collin Sexton Alabama – Freshman

Collin Sexton played a pivotal role in leading Alabama to the NCAA tournament as he averaged 19.2 points and 3.6 assists per game. Sexton will look to continue to impress NBA scouts with his explosiveness and ability to drive to the rim.

#4 Mohamed Bamba Texas – Freshman

Mohamed Bamba only spent one season with the Texas Longhorns but is considered one of the best defensive players in the draft. Bamba averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game in his freshman season. Many NBA analysts expect him to be selected with a top-five pick in the draft.

#5 Trae Young Oklahoma – Freshman

Trae Young was a dynamic offensive playmaker for the Oklahoma Sooners as he finished the season with 27.4 points and 8.7 assists per game. However, some scouts are concerned that his heavy reliance on 3-pointers and his smaller size will not translate as well to the NBA.

Sophomore Wildcard – Miles Bridges – Michigan State

Miles Bridges surprised everyone last year by opting to return to school after a successful freshman season. Bridges followed up with 17.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in his sophomore season. He is expected to be a late lottery draft pick.
