De’ Aaron Fox is a lean athletic freshman point guard. This NBA draft prospect stands at 6’ 3.25” (with shoes), weighs 169.6 lbs and has a 6’ 6.5” wingspan. A speedy push the pace type of guard. He’s a lefty that is capable of filling up the stat sheet. He finds teammates, plays defense and finishes plays around the basket. With the development of his body and a solid jump shot he has the potential to be the best player to coming out of this year’s draft.

De’ Aaron can connect with teammates when attacking around screens. Can hit cutters on the pick & roll. Can thread the needle with bounce passes. Finds shooters coming off of screens along the perimeter and at the foul line/ elbow areas… Can find shooters as an inbound passer. He ranked 47th in NCAA total Assist and recorded a total of 165. He ranked 80th in assist per game and ranked 134th in assist to turnover ratio. His per 40-minute assist rate is 6.2 and his per 100-possession assist rate is 7.2.

Can rebound at his position. He collected a total of 142 rebounds on the season. His per 40-minute rebounding rate is 5.3. His per-100 possession rebounding rate is 7.2. His total rebounding percentage is 7.2. On the offensive end he averaged 0.55 offensive rebounds and grabbed a total of 20 boards. His offensive rebounding percentage is 2.0…Defensively he averaged 3.38 defensive rebounds and collected a total of 122. His defensive rebounding percentage is 12.2. He likes to rebound and push in transition. A rebound and go guard. He’s constantly looking to exploit the defense before it is set. Can find teammates up court with the pass.

A speedy guard with solid end to end transition speed with the ball in his hands. He changes gears and direction with in & outs and crossovers. He’s capable of finding teammates or finishing plays himself. Capable of pulling up for the long jumper. Can get into the paint. Can find shooters on the wing. Can find his bigs at the basket; will attempt the lob pass. Has the ability to side step defenders to get to the basket for acrobatic lay ups. Can finish plays as lane filler as well. Capable of drawing fouls. Has the ability to clean up teammates missed field goal attempts with put back lay ins.

De’Aaron is a good defender. The effort is there plus he locks in defensively. Can apply full court ball pressure. He’s active, has quick hands and he stays low. Moves his feet to fight through screens and contest jumpers…Can provide help defense…Turns defense into offense. Can get into passing lanes for steals. He had 53 steals on the season. He ranked 111th in NCAA total steals and ranked 169th in NCAA steals per game. His per 40-minute steal rate is 2.0. His per 100-possession steal rate is 2.7…He didn’t block many shots on the season. He had a total of 7. His per 40-minute block rate is 0.3 and his per 100-possession block rate is 0.4.

Can attack off the dribble (with or without screens) or get his field goal attempts off of cuts to the basket. Extremely quick. Solid handle. Can break defenders down off the dribble. Can change direction on defenders with in & outs and crossovers. Can split the pick & roll trap defense. Can get into the paint for floaters. Can get to the rim. Athletic so he has the ability to finish above the rim with flushes or with acrobatic lay ups… At times can be overly aggressive and force penetration on his attacks; charges. He’s efficient around the basket. He shot 52 percent on his field goal attempts inside the three-point line.

His jump shot is work in progress. Can get his shot off the dribble with or without screens. Creates space with in & outs. Can get to the elbow for the mid range pull up. Capable of knocking down a catch & shoot jumper. His range extends out to the college three-point line. He wasn’t very effective from long distance. For the season he connected on 17 of 69 three pointers.
